Evaluation of two pit and fissure sealants: an in vitro study.

چکیده
The penetration coefficients (PC) and tensile bond strengths of two pit and fissure sealants and a low viscosity bonding resin were evaluated. The penetration coeftYcients of the resin systems were determined at 22°C. Five determinations were done with each resin. Bonded test specimens were loaded to failure in the tensile mode in an Instron testing macl~’ne. Ten specimens were prepared with each resin system. The tensile bond strength of a resin was not dependent on the PC of the resin.

Abstract Background and Aim: Considering that 67 to 90 percent of dental caries in the age of 5 to 17are related to occlusal surface on molars, the use of fissure sealant has been reported as effective in reducing caries. The aim of this study was to assess the clinical effectiveness of fissure sealants placed on permanent first molars between 2016 and 2018 in pediatric department of Dental Facu...

AIM The anatomical pits and fissures of the teeth have long been recognized as susceptible areas for the initiation of dental caries. The extreme vulnerability to decay of these pits and fissures on the occlusal surfaces has prompted dental scientists to seek methods of caries prevention. Motivated by the role of pit and fissure sealants in caries prevention, the aim of this study was to compar...

Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the retention of glass ionomer sealant, Vitro Molar® (DFL) and Ketac Molar Easy Mix® (3 m ESPE) as pit and fissure sealants on first permanent molars, fully or partially erupted. Methods The study sample consisted of 412 molars, among 110 children. The sealant retention was evaluated after 6 months of the application. Results The results were coll...

Aims and objectives: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate self-adhering composite Dyad flow (Kerr, USA) as a pit and fissure sealant. The objectives were to assess the degree of microleakage with self-adhering composite Dyad flow and that with Fissurit F as pit and fissure sealants and, to compare the same between these two materials. Materials and Methods: 20 premolars extracted for ...

BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare three different pit and fissure sealants with different composition to check their effectiveness for sealing ability and microleakage. MATERIALS & METHODS Total 120 therapeutically extracted premolars devoid of any caries, anomalies or morphogenic diversity were collected and distributed equally in three groups (40 in each). ...
